The Avalon Theatre presents

This Is Lea

Friday, June 24, 2011 at 8pm

 In the Stolz Listening Room

This Is Lea (featured artist at the Strathmore at Bethesda and The Barns at Wolf Trap)
For those who enjoy the smooth and sometimes sultry sounds of the city nightclub singer, The Avalon Theatre happily presents, This is Lea. Lea's guitar work is at times reminiscent of Richie Havens with a sexy vocal range that consistently harkens the soul of Joni Mitchell.Truth be told, there are also shades of India.Arie, Ani DiFranco and Bonnie Raitt in her singing, writing and guitar playing.
By infusing elements of jazz, country, gospel & R&B into her own brand of fresh contemporary folk, Lea creates a Friday night sound that features pure vocals, unique melodic guitar and intelligent lyrics.
You'll feel like you've stepped into that special spot in town that no one has discovered yet. Lea has been repeatedly acknowledged by the Washington Area Music Association as one of the area's Best Female Vocalist, Recording Artists and Songwriters.
